25-Year Bus Frame Inspections in Victoria

What the inspection covers
Victorian VASS guidance specifically addresses 25-year bus structural inspections. The VASS Manual identifies structural areas including doors and pillars, rails, side-wall assemblies and trusses, floor and floor bearers, sill/waist/cant rails, hoops, chassis rails, body supports and inner/outer panels. The inspection is aimed at the structural frame and supporting body structure that can affect the continued safe operation of the bus. Depending on the vehicle design and condition, this can include accessible chassis and frame sections, body-frame members, cross-members, mounting areas, corrosion zones, cracking, deformation and previous structural repairs.
