Van Modifications
CVC assesses engineering and certification requirements for modified vans used as ambulances, campervans, work vehicles and accessible transport. The approval pathway depends on the vehicle and the modification.
Motorhome Modifications
CVC assesses van and bus conversions to motorhomes and campervans in Victoria. We review the proposed layout, seating, mass and relevant modification evidence to identify the applicable engineering and certification requirements.
Wheelchair
CVC supports VASS assessment of wheelchair-accessible vehicle modifications in Victoria, including access equipment, wheelchair restraints and seating changes. Extra taxi or commercial-passenger-vehicle requirements may apply where relevant.
Seating Modifications
CVC assesses seat and restraint additions, removals and layout changes in vans and buses. The required evidence and approval pathway depend on the vehicle category, anchorages, seating position and intended use.
Truck Modifications
CVC provides engineering assessment and applicable certification for truck body, chassis, wheelbase and equipment modifications in Victoria. We work with body builders and operators on the evidence required for the vehicle and its intended use.
Bus Modifications
CVC supports bus and specialist passenger-vehicle modifications, including seating and restraint changes, bodywork and applicable 25-year bus frame inspections. Certification requirements depend on the vehicle, work and relevant VASS or heavy-vehicle pathway.
