Type approval depends on evidence that demonstrates compliance with the ADRs applicable to the vehicle. The required evidence may include approved test reports, calculations, drawings, component approvals, technical declarations or other accepted material. Where physical testing is required, the testing facility must hold approval for the relevant standard. CVC can help determine the evidence pathway and coordinate the engineering work required for the project.

For manufacturers and body builders

CVC is particularly suited to commercial-vehicle projects where the approval needs to remain aligned with real production configurations. We work with body builders, OEMs and SSMs on vehicle variants, wheelbases, body configurations, axle loads and engineering evidence so the approval documentation reflects what is actually being supplied.

National approval framework

Vehicle Type Approvals operate under the Australian Government’s Road Vehicle Standards framework and are managed through the Vehicle Type Approval process and the ROVER portal.
