ADR Testing & Engineering Evidence for Commercial Vehicles

Commercial Vehicle Compliance (CVC) is an Australian Government-approved ROVER testing facility operating within its published approval scope. CVC supports vehicle manufacturers, importers, Second Stage Manufacturers, body builders and modifiers with ADR testing, engineering evidence and compliance documentation for commercial vehicle projects.

CVC’s published ROVER testing scope

CVC’s current published testing scope covers the following Australian Design Rules. Testing availability and exact approval scope should be confirmed against the current Australian Government list of approved testing facilities in ROVER before a project relies on a particular test pathway:

CVC is not approved for seat-pull testing. Where a required test falls outside CVC’s approved facility scope, we can help identify the appropriate evidence pathway and coordinate the supporting engineering work.

When is physical ADR testing required?

The evidence required depends on the ADR, vehicle category, approval pathway and the evidence already available. Some compliance questions can be supported by calculations, drawings, inspection evidence, component approvals or accepted test reports. Where an ADR or approval pathway specifically requires physical testing, the test must be completed by a facility approved for that relevant scope.

Testing and engineering evidence should be planned together

Testing is most effective when the vehicle configuration, test objective and evidence requirements are defined before the vehicle or component is presented. CVC can review the design and available evidence before testing so the test work supports the intended approval pathway and avoids unnecessary repeat work.

CVC combines testing capability with commercial-vehicle engineering, VASS certification and RVS/ROVER approval support. This allows clients to coordinate testing, calculations, drawings, structural review and regulatory submissions through one engineering team where the required work falls within CVC’s capability.

Where a required physical test sits outside CVC’s approved testing scope, we identify the appropriate external testing pathway and can coordinate the supporting engineering evidence without representing that test as an in-house service.
